PlantSowGrow is built so that your garden stays on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics.

What stays on your device

Your gardens, plants, tasks, notes and photos are stored only in the app's storage on your phone. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.

What the app sends over the internet

• Plant catalogue — the app downloads plant information and pictures from plants.bmks.co.uk. These requests contain nothing about you or your garden. Like any website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes the IP address of each request to deliver it and to protect the service; we do not store or use it.
• Your town and frost dates — when you search for your town, the text you type is sent to the Open-Meteo geocoding service, and the coordinates of the town you pick are sent to Open-Meteo's historical weather service to work out your frost dates. Open-Meteo does not require an account and we send nothing else. The town you choose is then saved on your phone.

Camera and photos

The app asks for camera or photo library access only when you add a photo to a plant. Photos are copied into the app's own storage on your phone and are never uploaded. When you use Share, you choose where the picture goes.

Notifications

Task reminders are scheduled on your phone. No notification service or server is involved, and you can turn reminders off in the app's settings at any time.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
